The unnamed man was on the long-running US talk show Dr. Phil, where he said he thought he'd been catfished because the woman didn't look like her Instagram photos. Ads by "When I saw her online, she reminded me of all the things I like. We were attracted to each other right away, and we talked for about two weeks before we met in person. I paid a ($400) to come see me, but when she arrived, I knew she wasn't the same person "he said.
The disappointed man said that he felt cheated because the woman didn't look like what he had seen.
Because of this, he has changed how he FaceTimes people. "I hugged her, but then I saw that I had been tricked. I never said the girl was ugly; I just told her I had been tricked. I have no doubt that she lied to me. Social media is bad, and it makes people compare themselves to others a lot "he added.
The young man also said that it's harder for men because filters and Photoshop are used by women online to hide flaws that men can see.
