Man dating woman, 23, trapped in eight-year-old body slams critics for calling him a 'creep'

Dan Swygart has responded to people who called him a "creep" because he is dating 23-year-old Shauna Rae who is stuck in the body of an eight-year-old girl.

The 26-year-old Welshman has shot down the idea that he likes her "because she looks like a kid." Dan has instead made it clear that he dates Shauna because of her "personality" and not because she looks like a child.

Shauna Rae Lesick, who stars in the TLC show "I Am Shauna Rae," is only three feet and ten inches tall and weighs 50 pounds, which is about the same as a normal eight-year-old.

The treatment she got as a child for brain cancer stunted her growth, which has made it hard for the petite star to find love and be in a relationship.



Shauna's mother and stepfather, Patty and Mark Schrankel, have said that they were afraid that Shauna's childlike appearance would make paedophiles interested in her.



But Dan has stood up for his relationship with Shauna, who is 23.

In a video posted on social media, he said, "It's important to remember that Shauna is an amazing 23-year-old woman with a disability.

"So, if you want to get to know her, it's important to be aware of her disability but to look past it and get to know her as a person.

"She is an amazing and inspiring 23-year-old woman, but she is a bit short."

He also said, "As soon as you say she can't connect with someone in the real world, you dehumanize her, which is disgusting.
