Ghanaian singer Nhyira Betty got the biggest surprise of her life when she got royalties from GHAMRO that had been due to her for a long time.
The Ghana Music Rights Organization gave Nhyira Betty GH153 in royalties that she was owed. The Gospel Musician got the money through a Mobile Money alert. She took a screenshot of the alert and posted it online.
The singer, who has been in the music business for more than 17 years, said, "The first time they started sharing, it was 400 Ghana cedes, but now it's only 153 Ghana cedes."
"Everywhere, these songs of mine are played and sung. Please look at my YouTube channel to find the songs I'm talking about. If I get this payment share after 17 years in the gospel music business, what will the next ones get? "she went on.
The "Yebedwire" singer was still upset, so she hired GHAMRO to help her do better and asked stakeholders to step in. "I just went to South Africa last month, and I heard that musicians there make a good living," she said.
"Some mistakes need to be fixed. Please share...piss-media men, we need you to come in, "She came to this conclusion in the Facebook post below.
