My Ex-Husband Was The Best Until He Became ‘Irresponsible’ - Actress

Yvonne Jegede, a well-known actress in Nollywood, has finally talked about her failed marriage to actor Olakunle "Abounce" Fawole.

Jegede was a guest on fellow actress Mercy Johnson's cooking show. When asked about her relationship with Abounce, she talked about her failed marriage.

The actress says that Abounce has been careless and doesn't want to see their 4-year-old son.

She said that the last time the actor saw his 5-month-old son was when she threatened to change his last name.

Jegede said that Abounce used to be a good person, but that he changed suddenly.

In Pidgin English, she said, "First of all, I'm afraid of how I'll tell people that I don't want to get married again after a short time. I don't know what will happen in the future, so I don't know what to do.

"I didn't go through anything, he didn't beat me or hurt me in any way. I just woke up one day and decided that this road wasn't going to work, so I left. I'm glad I made that choice because I wouldn't be happy today if I had stayed because I was afraid of what people would say.



She also didn't understand how a friendship as strong as theirs could have gotten to the point where they don't talk to each other anymore.

"We don't talk. He never comes around, never calls, and never does anything. I don't know what could cause a friendship to end, because other than getting married, we had a good, strong friendship. I still think about that friendship and think that what we're going through now isn't supposed to be happening, or at least that friendship was supposed to hide something. "He didn't call," she said in part.


In 2019, Jegede said that she and Abounce, whom she had been married to for a year, had broken up.

Abounce, who is the son of the late actress Bukky Ajayi, married the actress in Lagos, Nigeria, in February 2018. The wedding was simple but elegant.

But weeks after it was said that Jegede had moved out of her husband's house, rumors spread that they were no longer together.

In a later interview with Pulse, the actress said that she left her husband three months after she found out she was pregnant with her son.
