Mr. Bernard Antwi-Boasiako, the Ashanti regional chairman for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), said that the National Democratic Congress (NDC), especially Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, sees the building of the National Cathedral as a "kakai," which means "nightmare."

Mr. Bernard Antwi-Boasiako, also known as Chairman Wontumi, said that the project will still be built even if it scares the NDC and their Member of Parliament for North Tongu.

In an interview on Wontumi TV that was watched by Club Mate, Chairman Wontumi joked that the NDC could use delay tactics to stop the project, but he assured them that it would still be "built."

"The NDC can try to put off building the cathedral, but I want Okudzeto to know that it will be built. The cathedral has become kakai to them, he said, "We will build it."

Chairman Wontumi used the event to ask those in charge of the project to make a website where people can go to give money to help build the National Cathedral.
