NDC MPs Blocked Proposals By Government To Open New Embassies Abroad

Member of Parliament for North Tongu Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has criticized the Government embarking on projects which will not benefit the country.

In his Twitter post, the honorable member of parliament explained how NDC members of parliament were able to successfully scuttled govt’s 2023 plans to demolish the Accra International Conference Centre & construct a new one at a staggering €116million (GHS1.3billion).

He went on further to highlight another achievement by blocking proposals by govt to open new embassies abroad.

The Tweet reads: “NDC MPs have successfully scuttled govt’s 2023 plans to demolish the Accra International Conference Centre & construct a new one at a staggering €116million (GHS1.3billion).”

We also blocked proposals by govt to open new embassies abroad.

Broke Ghana must know it’s priorities.

Ablakwa earlier cautioned the government to prioritize the country’s needs and not to engaged in reckless spending. Speaking to Citi News he said: “We take the view that over the last four years, the Ghanaian taxpayer has been burdened with billions of cedis in the name of revenue assurance contracts and arrangements and so you can speak to the KelniGVG and the rest, and they are very costly….  We should by now be having very adequate and reliable systems if we are getting value for money for all of these arrangements. We do not need another entity to be granted such a colossal amount in the name of revenue assurance,” he said.
