NDC MPs Have Shown John Mahama Proper ‘Ataya’ – Lecturer On Secret Voting

A lecturer at Kumasi Technical University, Dr. Samuel Afriyie, has praised the minority Members of Parliament who secretly voted to approve the president's appointees, calling it a "proper ataya" shown to former President John Mahama, who had hoped the MPs would reject the appointees.

Prior to the vote, the minority MPs had argued that President Akufo-Addo's government was overcrowded and needed downsizing.

During the debates, it seemed likely that the nominees would be rejected, but during the secret vote, all the nominees were confirmed. Dr. Afriyie sees this turn of events as a rebuke to John Mahama.
