NDC has hands in the AlJazeera documentary on the Canadian Gold smuggler and money launderer – Asafo-Adjei according a publication by 3News.

Nana Kwame Asafo-Adjei, who is the Deputy Director of External Affairs for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has accused the National Democratic Congress (NDC) of being involved in the Al Jazeera investigation on Alistair Mathias, a Canadian gold smuggler and money launderer.

Asafo-Adjei expressed his concern about the negative image such incidents could create for Ghana on the global stage.

During the final episode of Al Jazeera’s undercover investigation into Mathias’ illegal activities in Africa, he claimed to have connections with various African presidents, including Ghana's President Akufo-Addo. Mathias even went as far as alleging that President Akufo-Addo was his lawyer and a close friend.

Asafo-Adjei, speaking on the Big Issue on TV3 on April 18th, suggested that the NDC played a role in the investigation, similar to the situation with the Number 12 documentary, in which the President's name was mentioned. It's essential to be mindful of how these matters can affect Ghana's image worldwide, and we must work to ensure that such incidents are prevented in the future.
