NDC is the only viable option I’ll vote for – Prince Amoabeng

Prince Kofi Amoabeng, a businessman and co-founder of the now-defunct UT Bank, has endorsed the opposition National Democratic Congress as the only choice capable of forming a government after the 2024 elections.

Although he had previously supported the National Patriotic Party, which is currently in power, Mr. Amoabeng said he would support the NDC in the upcoming elections.

He claims that despite his strong support for the NPP and the fact that his sister is an NPP MP, the nation needs a change.

“I'll be honest with you: I'm not going to support the NPP. I have sworn not to support the NPP. The NDC will get my vote. We need a change and the only option that makes sense is the NDC," he replied to a texter during an interview on Ghana Television.

In 2017, Prince Amoabeng described his struggles following the collapse of his bank in an effort to clean up the banking industry. The CEO of the failed bank said the government should be held accountable for the process that led to the closure of several Ghanaian-owned banks, although some Ghanaians have accused Finance Minister Ken Ofori Atta of orchestrating the collapse of UT Bank.

He pointed out that since Ghanaians supported the government with their votes, they should shoulder more of the responsibility.
