Nat’l Peace Council calls for calm between Agyinasare and Nogokpo chiefs

The Volta Region branch of the National Peace Council has taken steps to mediate the ongoing dispute between Nogokpo, a town in the region, and Archbishop Charles Agyinasare, the founder of Perez Chapel International. In an effort to address the impasse, the Council has called for calm and urged all parties involved not to succumb to provocation.

Chairman Rev Dr Ernest Adu-Gyamfi emphasized the importance of exercising restraint and caution in commenting on the matter. This development comes after Archbishop Agyinasare was given a 14-day ultimatum to appear in Nogokpo following his remarks about the town being the demonic headquarters of the Volta Region. The religious leader sought to clarify his statement and even apologized to the people of Nogokpo. However, the authorities, led by Nufialaga Mawufemor Korbla Nonyigbey, claimed that the archbishop showed no remorse, leading to the summons. The National Peace Council also highlighted the significance of peaceful coexistence among different faiths in Ghana and urged the media and individuals to exercise restraint in their narratives to safeguard the country's peace, stability, and integrity.

In conclusion, the National Peace Council's Volta Region branch has taken proactive measures to facilitate dialogue and resolution in the dispute between Nogokpo and Archbishop Charles Agyinasare. Their call for calm and restraint, along with the emphasis on peaceful coexistence among different faiths, underscores the importance of maintaining harmony and stability within the country. It is crucial for all parties involved to approach the situation with circumspection and work towards an amicable resolution for the benefit of all.
