Okada rider missing at Assin Manso, colleagues besiege police station

Several Okada Riders in Assin Manso, which is in the Assin South District of the Central Region, have held a wild protest to find out where one of their friends is.

Emmanuel Kwaku Amoah, who is 16 and known locally as Vision, just finished Junior High School. While he was waiting for his results, he worked as an Okada rider.

On Monday, January 23, 2023, the person went missing after getting a call to pick up a pillion rider from one of the villages. He hasn't been seen since.

His disappearance has made the okada riders in the area angry because they want to know where and what happened to their coworker.

Alex Gbli, the head of the Okada Riders Union, said that even though this is the first time a motorcyclist has gone missing in this way, they are terrified and panicked because they don't know who will be next.

At the same time, some of the protesters wore red armbands and headbands and sang war songs to show how upset they were.

They say that because of what happened, they have cut back on their work hours, which is hurting their ability to make a living.

But the angry okada riders and some of the missing boy's family members surrounded the Assin Anyinabrim Police Station to demand the release of a suspect who had just been arrested.

Activists say, "The suspect, whose name is only Kofi, was arrested for allegedly killing a person who has not yet been named."

"We think he knows where our brother and coworker is because the missing boy's motorcycle was found on his veranda with the number plates and other parts missing."

"This is a clear sign that he knows where the boy is, which is why we want him to be set free. They said it with anger.

The victim's family is also asking the police to find out where the victim is.

They are, however, asking the police to look into the matter in a big way.

The Assin South District Police Command, on the other hand, calmed down the protesters and told them that they would do a thorough investigation to find the boy, dead or alive.

Since then, Chiefs and Elders in Assin Manso have started looking for the person.
