Oxford University's Grand Tribute: Honoring Kufuor, Ghana's Beloved Leader, in the UK

The honorary ceremony at the University of Oxford stands as a testament to the enduring legacy of Former President John Agyekum Kufuor. Surrounded by esteemed personalities and loved ones, his remarkable achievements and dedication to Ghana's progress were recognized and celebrated with great pride.

In a heartwarming event held at the University of Oxford in the United Kingdom, Former President John Agyekum Kufuor, an esteemed alumnus of Exeter College, was honored by his alma mater. The ceremony, adorned with vibrant colors, welcomed distinguished guests from both Ghana and the UK, creating an atmosphere of celebration.

Among the notable personalities in attendance were the revered Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, accompanied by his wife, Lady Julia, who came to show their support for the ex-Ghanaian leader. The presence of the Minister of Energy, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, affectionately known as 'Napo,' added to the prestigious gathering, along with Nana Owusu Afriyie, the Otumfuo Apagyahene, and other prominent chiefs.

The event also witnessed the participation of close relatives of Mr. Kufuor, including Nana Owusu Prempeh and Ing Nana Poku Agyeman, the Kumasi Urban Roads Director, further emphasizing the significance of the occasion.

Former President Kufuor's exceptional tenure as Ghana's president for two terms, from 2001 to 2009, is still fondly remembered by all. He gained widespread acclaim for his introduction of various social intervention policies, such as the National Health Insurance Scheme, among others, which greatly benefitted the nation.
