Reject Bawumia because he’s a Muslim - Alan’s E/R allegedly stirs religious fire

Ayeh-Paye Samuel, a former MP for the Ayensuano Constituency, is being called out on social media for allegedly using religion as a political tool during the campaign for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Internal Elections.

Alleged conversations between a former lawmaker who calls himself John Alan Kwadwo Kyeremanten's Eastern Regional Campaign Director and some delegates.

In the leaked chats, Ayeh-Paye can be heard telling delegates not to vote for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia just because he is a Muslim and doesn't belong to the country's majority religion.

He says that the Vice President will lose because the 2024 elections will be based on religion and the New Patriotic Party has done a terrible job of making Ghana's economy better.

"The battle over the economy is already over. Ayeh-Paye told a delegate he was trying to convince to vote against Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia that all that was left was a religious and tribal game. "If you don't have that in our favor, we're done," he said.

Some important people who are worried about the former member of parliament's actions think that he should be called to account because his actions are bad and cause division.
