Rev. Korankye Ankrah prays against inclusion of individual bondholders

The deadline for bondholders to sign up for the government's debt exchange program is tomorrow, January 16, 2023.

Some economists and other interested parties still want the government to stop the plan.

The goal of the program is to make it possible for the country to pay back its debts. This is a key part of getting a deal with the International Monetary Fund. But the people who own the bonds say they don't like the terms.

The General Overseer of Royal House Chapel has prayed that God will move the country's leaders to let individual bondholders off the hook. This has given the protests a spiritual edge.

Rev. Sam Korankye Ankrah also asked God to keep leaders from taking the money that poor and needy people have saved.
