Revealed: How Leader Of Resurrection Power Church Died

Reverend Anthony Kwadwo Boakye, the Founder and General Overseer of the Resurrection Power New Generation Church at Kasoa Toll Booth, has been confirmed dead.

He is said to have died on Tuesday, 21 February 2023 at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra.

The man of God, who had been ill for some time, finally succumbed to the cold grip of death.

A statement confirming his death said the charismatic preacher had been battling a stroke since 23 October 2021, which led to his death.

Rev. Boakye was said to have undergone a series of medical treatments, such as physiotherapy, to help him recover.

The statement said these treatments kept him in good health until it was time for him to seek medical help outside the country.

Sadly, he died just as he was preparing to travel.

"After his health improved so much, Pastor Boakye resumed his work as a pastor. On Sundays, he gave virtual sermons from his base in an undisclosed location until New Year's Eve, when he turned up in person to lead the service.”

"After that, he continued his physical therapy exercises and met regularly with a small group of church leaders, family members and his lawyer," the statement said.

It continued: "On 31 January 2023, his family had to take him back to the hospital because he was in great pain in his left leg.

"It was found that his left leg wasn't getting enough blood circulation, so he had to be flown out of the country for further treatment and, if necessary, surgery.

"He was preparing for this trip when he suddenly fell ill and had to be rushed to the Cardiothoracic Centre at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital. "Sadly, he died at about 2am on Tuesday, 21 February 2023," Alexander K.K. Abban, who was his lawyer, said in a statement on his death.

During his life, the pastor was known for his practical sermons that talked about how Christians should live holy lives and walk in God's power.

These kinds of messages were emphasised in his online and face-to-face Sunday sermons, as well as other evangelical events he held across the country.

His ability to speak in the local Twi language, which became his trademark, also made him popular. As a result, branches of the church began to grow in Kasoa, the church's main town, and other places.

Reverend Anthony Kwadwo Boakye was also known for his acts of charity to the needy such as bedridden patients, flood victims and others.

Funeral arrangements are yet to be made.

"We ask everyone in the church and the general public to pray for him and ask God to let him rest peacefully in the arms of Abraham, the father of our faith.

"Arrangements for the funeral will be announced to the public at the appropriate time," the statement said.
