Sad As Three Men Die During Baptism In South Africa

On Saturday, the bodies of three men between the ages of 24 and 30 were found in a stream in Snake Park, Soweto. They had drowned during a baptism ceremony.

Nana Radebe, a spokesman for Johannesburg's emergency management services (EMS), said that they got a call about the incident at 11:15 a.m.

When they got there, the family of the person who had died was there.

"There were people there when we got there, and they told us there was a baptism. They said that when the three men went in, one of them fell. The other two men also tried to get in, but it was too deep. "They fell and drowned, too," she said.

Radebe said that the body of one of the three people was found before noon, and the bodies of the other two people were found after 2pm.

It wasn't clear right away which church the men went to.

The same thing happened last month on the Jukskei River, when 14 church members died during a baptism ceremony.
