Sales Girl Arrested For Selling GH₵120,000 Worth Of Goods Without Sending Back Money To Her Boss

A sales girl named Adijat Bello has been charged with stealing N3,815,000 from her boss in the Shomolu area of the state. She was brought before a Lagos Magistrate's Court.

The police arrested the defendant after her employer, Bashan Global Resources Limited, told the DPO in charge of Shomolu Division that she sold goods and kept the money for herself.

The accused, who lives in Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State, was charged with two counts of conspiracy and theft at the Yaba Magistrate's Court.

Magaji Haruna, a lawyer for the police, told the court in the C/93/2022 charge that the crime was committed on November 3, 2022, in Shomolu, Lagos.

Haruna told the court that the defendant, who worked as a sales girl, sold goods worth N3,815,000 that belonged to her boss and kept the money for herself instead of sending it to her boss.

He said that the defendant's crimes were punishable under Sessions 411 and 287(7) of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.

The defendant said she wasn't guilty, so Magistrate O.A. Adefope let her go free on bail and put the case off until December 20, 2022.

Adefope said that the defendant should be held at the Kirikiri Correctional Facility in Apapa until she met the conditions of her bail.
