Shocking: Police Parade Medical Doctor Accused of Sedating and Raping Patients

A medical doctor in Kwara state, identified as Ayodele Joseph, was paraded by the police on Friday, May 12. The doctor is alleged to have engaged in the disturbing acts of sedating and raping his patients at his hospital in Ilorin, the capital of the state.

During the parade of the suspect at the Police headquarters in Ilorin, Commissioner of Police Paul Odama provided details of the case. He stated that on May 5th, a female nurse (whose name was withheld) reported to the police that she had visited Ayodele's hospital in the Sawmill Area on Lagos Road, Ilorin, for a surgery. According to the victim, during the treatment, Ayodele sedated her, causing her to lose consciousness. Unbeknownst to the doctor, she had activated her phone and placed it in a strategic position to record the surgery.

The victim further explained that upon waking up after the surgery, she discovered that she was completely naked. Upon reviewing the recorded video, she was horrified to find evidence of Ayodele Joseph engaging in sexual intercourse with her while she was under sedation.

Commissioner Odama revealed that the investigation led to the recovery of the video recording depicting the doctor's misconduct towards the victim. The evidence was also supported by the results of medical examinations conducted on the victim.

Additionally, the police commissioner mentioned that Ayodele is facing charges of unprofessional conduct resulting in the death of another patient, Nneka Akanike, at his hospital. The police have initiated legal proceedings against him in court regarding this separate case.

This distressing incident has raised serious concerns about the behavior and professional ethics of Ayodele Joseph, as well as the safety and well-being of patients seeking medical care at his hospital. The police are committed to ensuring that justice is served and that such reprehensible acts are not tolerated in the medical profession.
