Shocking life of ‘Mormon prophet’ who had 20 wives including a 9-year-old and ‘plans to wed own daughter’

A self-proclaimed Mormon prophet married 20 women and underage girls and planned to marry his daughter, according to FBI papers.

Arizona cult leader Samuel Rappylee Bateman was arrested last year.

According to the Salt Lake Tribune, the FBI submitted an affidavit Friday detailing some of his alleged crimes.

Bateman is a Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (FDLS) polygamist.

The FBI affidavit accuses him of incest, group sex with underage children, and marrying his daughter.

It claims Bateman had over 50 followers and 20 wives, some under 15.

He married his followers' wives.

Bateman's relatives told investigators he planned to marry his daughter in 2019.

His wife and daughter soon left.

The affidavit details Bateman's crimes, including an interaction with a follower couple.

Bateman said God commanded him to “give the most precious thing he has, his girls' virtue,” to three of his adult male followers, according to the transcript.

It adds: “God will heal their bodies and put the membrane back in their body.

“I've never been more confident in executing his will. Love.”

The document claims Bateman saw three adult men have sex with his kids, one of whom was 12.

Bateman began calling himself a prophet in 2019.

The affidavit says Bateman drove to Colorado City in a "van packed with women and girls" in 2020.

He called them his wives.

He was arrested last August for towing a "box trailer" with unattended young girls.

The FBI raided his two Colorado City homes the following month for evidence of underage marriages or sexual relationships.

He took and returned nine girls.

The girls were found the following day and taken to unknown locations.

Bateman is detained.
