Spio-Garbrah files to contest NDC primaries in Essikado-Ketan constituency

According to reports by Asaase News, Dr. Sebastian Spio-Garbrah has officially filed his nomination papers on March 21, 2023, to participate in the parliamentary primaries of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Essikado-Ketan constituency located in the Western Region of Ghana. This constituency is currently represented by Joe Ghartey of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

The NDC is scheduled to hold its national congress on May 13, 2023, to select its presidential candidate and 275 parliamentary candidates for the 2024 general elections. Sebastian Spio-Garbrah is the son of Dr. Ekow Spio-Garbrah, a prominent member of the NDC.

Sebastian Spio-Garbrah is currently the Chair of The Canada-Africa Chamber of Business and Global Managing Director & Chief Frontier Markets Analyst at DaMina Advisors.

He has an extensive background in frontier markets analysis and was recognized as one of the world's leading analysts in this field. Additionally, he played a key role in the establishment of the Africa risk research practice at Eurasia Group LLC.



Dr. Spio-Garbrah is a graduate of Middlebury College, Vermont, where he obtained a B.A (double) in Economics and Political Science, and Rutgers University, New Jersey, where he obtained a Juris Doctor (J.D) in law. He has also served as an advisor to the Tony Blair Commission on Africa and currently sits on several boards.
