Surgery has a side effect, I pick exercise over body surgery – Stephanie Benson

Exercise is better for me than body surgery because surgery has side effects, says Stephanie Benson

Singer Stephanie Benson, a Ghanaian living in the UK, has declared that she would rather exercise than have surgery.

With more and more people, especially women, undergoing multiple operations to correct a specific body part, plastic surgery has become the latest fashion trend.

In an interview with Felicia Osei on Adwuma Adwuma on Onua 95.1 FM, the mother of five stressed the negative effects of undergoing surgery to fix or correct a body part.

According to Stephanie Benson, she doesn't have a problem with women who undergo surgery to correct their bodies, but she would rather continue to exercise as it is healthier in the long run.

"If you've had a baby and you want to go and lift your breasts because you've got a bunch of kids... Go ahead and do it," Stephanie encouraged.

"My daughter who contacted me earlier was in a popular girl band. She had a slightly flatter breast and she wanted to lift it but I told her once she gives birth it will sag again, she is thinking about it again if you look at my page we are exercising together".

"I think health is everything. We have to be careful of some things," she continued, "every procedure has its negative effects. I think if you are done with childbirth and you want to change something, go ahead".

"If it wasn't for exercise, we wouldn't be here. Exercise works wonders. It should not be underestimated. Even after a long day at work, I work out at home. Women over the age of 35 need to lift weights of some kind. Any form of exercise is beneficial. You feel so much better after a workout.”
