Suspected Gay Men Attacked In Kumasi, You Won’t Believe What Happened

Ola Michaels, a reporter for Neat FM, recently recounted a disturbing incident in which two suspected gay men were attacked and beaten up in Ayeduase, Kumasi.

The attackers are believed to be residents of the Glory be to God hostel in the same area. Michaels explained that the incident occurred when the alleged homosexuals went to buy fried egg and drinks at a nearby spot where some boys from the hostel were also present.

The boys reportedly confronted the men and accused them of behaving like women, leading to a violent attack that left the victims severely beaten and dumped in a gutter. Michaels described the attackers as having beaten the men for a long time and even stoned them while they were still in the gutter.

This disturbing event is just the latest development in Ghana's ongoing efforts to clamp down on LGBTQI+ activities in the country. As the country's Parliament debates a bill to criminalize such activities, incidents like this serve as a stark reminder of the discrimination and violence that members of the LGBTQI+ community in Ghana continue to face.
