On Friday, March 3, a group lead by Thomas Partey's father visited Christian Atsu's family to offer his condolences.
Mr. Jacob Partey visited the deceased Atsu's home to provide support after learning that he had perished as a result of the earthquake that struck Turkey and Syria on February 6.
He took advantage of the chance to add his name to the book of condolences that the deceased football player's family had opened.
The Manye Horgbayo II, Queen of Piengua Wekpeti in the Manya Krobo Traditional Area, Mrs. Helina Partey, Ernest Sorgbodzor, Partey's local agent, and Samuel Delali Zigah, Partey's public relations officer, were with Mr. Partey.
Abedi Ayew Pele, Asamoah Gyan, Sulley Muntari, Derek Asamah, and Samuel Inkoom are just a few of the Black Stars athletes who have already visited the family to offer their condolences.
Atsu was discovered dead on February 18 after spending 12 days under the rubble. He had been involved in the disaster the day before, when Hatayspor had defeated Kasimpasa in the Turkish Super Lig.
His remains arrived in Ghana on February 19 and were met by the family, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Regional Integration.
The football player's one-week observation has been set for March 4 at Accra's Adjiringanor Astro-Turf.
The 31-year-old footballer is survived by a wife and three children, all of whom reside in the UK.
