TikTok star Asantewaa has made a bold claim that most celebrities are living inauthentic lives on social media. It is widely known that many Ghanaian celebrities borrow expensive items such as clothes, shoes, and cars to show off online. While some are caught, others continue with their "la borrow" lifestyle.
Asantewaa has supported claims made on social media that around 90% of Ghanaian celebrities are living fake lives on Instagram.
During a Q&A session with her friends, Asantewaa asserted that most celebrities and influencers are actually broke and struggling behind the scenes. She claimed that many borrow wigs and other costly items to showcase online and then return them to their original owners.
In fact, Asantewaa went further to state that many internet users are richer and more successful than most celebrities but are simply not in the limelight.
This is not the first time a celebrity has exposed the fraudulent lifestyles of their peers. Just recently, veteran actress Pascaline Edwards called out her colleagues for misleading young girls into believing that acting alone can make them wealthy. According to her, acting in movies alone cannot make anyone rich in Ghana.
