Traditionalists Call for Their Own National Holiday

Traditionalists in the country are calling on the government to designate a special public holiday for their community. During a welcome address delivered on behalf of the high priest, Moses Davor, Sam Davis Davor, Secretary of the Afetorku Gbodzi Shrine, emphasized the importance of granting traditionalists equal recognition to their Muslim and Christian counterparts.

He argued that such an acknowledgement would bolster their self-esteem and acknowledge their significant contributions to the country's advancement.

The traditionalists believe that African religion has, and will continue to play, a crucial role in the growth and development of nations, and therefore, a public holiday and formal recognition of their traditional medicine and association is warranted.
