Tragic Loss: UCC Student Found Dead in Hostel

It is with great sadness that we share the news of the passing of Elizabeth Boateng, a level 300 law student at the University of Cape Coast (UCC). According to a statement released by the Faculty of Law, Ms. Boateng passed away in her hostel on Thursday, 20th April 2023.

The Dean of the Faculty of Law expressed heartfelt condolences to the family, friends and colleagues of the deceased in the statement. The Faculty also informed students that counselling services are available to anyone affected by this tragic loss. Affected students can contact the office of the Dean of Student, who will direct them to the relevant person at the Counselling Centre.

Although the cause of Ms. Boateng’s death was not disclosed, the news has understandably been a shock to the Faculty and student body alike. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends of Ms. Boateng during this difficult time.
