Use Independence Day Celebrations To Apologize To The Good People Of Volta Region- NDC To Akufo-Addo

President Akufo-Addo Appeals to the World Investment Community that Africa Is Prepared For Business.

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Volta region has urged President Akufo-Addo to use Ghana's Independence Day celebrations as an opportunity to apologise to the locals in the area where the event would take place.

The President owes it to the residents of the region to atone for the difficulties they have faced, according to the regional section of the party. It became clear that the government's broken promises rendered the commemoration of colonial rule's end useless.

We think it would be appropriate for President Nana Addo to use the Independence Day celebration to express regret to the good people of Volta Region for the type of humiliations he subjected the Region to during the 2020 voter registration in order for this theme to resonate well with all Ghanaians.

In a statement released by James Gunu, the NDC's regional secretary, it was demanded that the government deliver around GHC126 million as money owed to the region.

The Akufo-Addo-led government promised GHC1 million per constituency per year, according to the NDC's Volta regional branch, but the party claims there have been seven years of unpaid promises. This sum represents all of those unpaid promises.

The NDC in the Volta Region stated that the "record terrible governance, unfathomably high cost of living, and the unparalleled levels of corruption" are diminishing the joy and enthusiasm that often mark the celebration of the nation's independence anniversary.

"The management of the nation's economy lacks a spirit of patriotism and nationalism."
