Veteran actress confirms separation from husband, explains why she still bears his surname

Ireti Doyle, an actress in Nollywood, has confirmed that she and Patrick Doyle, a veteran broadcaster and actor, are no longer together.

After being married for more than 19 years, Ireti and Patrick went their separate ways. In a recent interview with Chude Jideonwo, the actress said that she and Mr. Doyle are no longer married.

"We are no longer together" she said yes.

The 55-year-old woman said that she shouldn't have been married at that time.

"As an adult, it's not a matter of life and death...

There are some things you just can't do anything about. The truth is that I had no right to be married at that time, full stop. Let's not even talk about how I chose who to marry. She said, "I can't give up my life on the altar of your imagination or fantasy."

Ireti posted a clip of the interview on her Instagram page with the caption;

"There are times to stay quiet and times to talk. In a time when everything you say is analyzed and judged, it takes a certain amount of trust to talk about personal things. We are here now."
