Video: Many Feared Dead As Heavy Timber Logs Fall Off Truck At Bogoso

The chains on a trailer hauling logs accidentally came loose at Bogoso in the Prestea Huni Valley municipality of the Western Region, leaving many people presumed dead.

Although the exact cause of the accident is unknown, it was reported that the chains broke at the Bogoso roundabout near the central market.

Despite Saturday being a busy market day, vendors ran amok and many left their goods behind.

Several of the logs hit cars that were parked.

Emergency services personnel and representatives from the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) flocked to the scene in an effort to save lives.
