W/R: Teacher Dies After Allegedly Slapping A Student

In a tragic incident, a teacher at Dixcove Methodist Basic School in the Ahanta West District of the Western Region of Ghana has passed away after allegedly slapping a pupil. The unfortunate event took place when the pupil, who had been displaying disruptive behavior during class, continued to cause disturbances despite efforts to maintain order.

In response to the ongoing disruptions, the teacher resorted to slapping the student, which reportedly provoked a threat of retaliation. Initially, the teacher appeared to be in good health, but suddenly began complaining of feeling feverish. Concerned about his deteriorating condition, he was immediately rushed to the hospital and received the necessary medical treatment. However, despite the efforts to save him, the teacher tragically succumbed to his illness and passed away on Monday, May 29th, 2023.

This incident serves as a reminder of the challenges teachers face in maintaining discipline in the classroom.
