In an exclusive interview with BBC News, Christian Atsu's wife said the last time she spoke to her husband was last Saturday, two days before the incident.

She said Christian Atsu's manager had told her that there were still people alive under the Hatay Renaissance building where her husband is trapped, but that the rescue team didn't have the right tools to get them out.

Marie, who sounded very sad throughout the interview, also said that her children have been crying since they saw the news on TV.

The strong woman sounded very confident about her husband's safety and the chance that he could be rescued alive.
