We will face Bryan Acheampong boot for boot – James Agbey

James Agbey, the Director of Operations for the Greater Accra National Democratic Congress (NDC), has spoken out against the Minister of Food and Agriculture, Bryan Acheampong, and his comments about the upcoming 2024 general elections.

In a statement released on April 11th, Agbey criticized Acheampong for his "unguarded rants" and accused him of wanting to disrupt the elections and cause chaos. Agbey also condemned what he saw as a growing trend towards authoritarianism within the NPP, including reports of the party training vigilantes for the elections.

Agbey emphasized that the NDC would not tolerate violence or any attempt by the NPP to illegitimately hold onto power. He stated that the NPP would be voted out of office in 2024 and warned that if they resorted to violence, the NDC would be prepared to defend themselves.

Meanwhile, Acheampong had assured members of the NPP that the economy would bounce back and that the government was working to secure a deal with the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

Speaking to members of the NPP in Kwahu, he made it clear that the NPP would not hand over power to the NDC and that they would do whatever it takes to remain in government. Acheampong also claimed that the NPP had "the men" to deal with any threats or violence from the NDC.
