Why This Tribe Women Sing During Sex

The Himba are a nomadic tribe that lives in northern Namibia. They are known for their unique bodies and the way they put a paste on their skin and hair called Otjize.

This paste is used to clean the skin and protect it from harsh weather and bugs, especially when water is scarce during dry seasons.

The Himba are also known for their custom of welcoming guests with open arms and often having their wives take care of them.

The Himba tribe has a unique idea about how babies are made. They think that sperm and egg are not the only things that make babies, but that a spirit baby singing a certain song brings the baby to the womb. A woman who wants to have a child also hears this song.

When a woman wants to get pregnant, she makes a bed under a palm tree on a windy day, listens to the wind, and learns the song that the spirit baby who wants to be born at that time is singing.

When the woman who wants to have a child learns the song, she finds the man she wants to be the father and teaches him how to sing it.

As they sing the song together, they talk to each other. People think that if they sing the song over and over again while making love, the baby will be drawn to the mother's womb.
