Wife beats husband to death during a marital dispute

In Lusaka's Mtendere Compound, a 42-year-old man died after his wife allegedly beat him up.

The wife, whose name is only known to be Mable Banda, is said to have hit her husband while he was with two other people who have not yet been named.

Danny Mwale, a police deputy spokesperson, said that the incident happened between 7:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. on January 6, 2023, after a fight between a husband and wife.

"On January 7, 2023, around 19:30, the sister of the person who died went to the police and told them about the situation.

"The dead person was named Golden Lunda, who lived in Mtendere Compound but didn't know what number house he lived in," he said.

Mr. Mwale said that the man who died had been taken to the Mtendere Clinic for treatment and then moved to the University Teaching Hospitals, which is where he died.

He said that the suspect is being held by the police and that they are looking for other people who were involved.
