Wollacott Misses Out On Manchester United Dream

Joseph Wollacott, a goalkeeper from Ghana, did not play for Charlton Athletic on Tuesday night when they play Manchester United at Old Trafford in the Carabao Cup.

Wollacott, who is 26 years old, hurt his finger and has been ruled out of the game.

It’s every player’s dream to play against the best teams in the world not to talk of featuring in a game at Old Trafford.

Wollacott’s dream is to showcase his talent and Carabao Cup platform would have been incredible to add to his CV.

Wollacott was hurt in early November and didn't make Ghana's team for the 2022 FIFA World Cup. He hasn't been able to play for the Addicks since then.

Marcus Rashford scored twice for a much-changed Manchester United beat Charlton 3-0 at Old Trafford to move on to the Carabao Cup semifinals. This was their eighth straight win in all competitions.

After United's FA Cup win over Everton on Friday, manager Erik ten Hag made eight changes and gave 17-year-old midfielder Kobbie Mainoo his debut. This did not stop United's momentum, though, as Rashford's late double continued his good form (90, 94).

The England player has now scored 15 goals this season, and during his impressive cameo, he scored for the sixth game in a row and the eighth game in a row at Old Trafford. Antony's long-range shot with his left foot had put United ahead earlier (21).
