Woman and her partner arrested for allegedly battering her two children (Sensitive Photos)

A mother and her partner have been arrested in Lagos state for allegedly beating up her two children, ages 5 and 2.

The police arrested the woman, whose name is Busola Oyediran, and her partner, Akebiara Emmanuel, on Friday, January 13, after neighbors told them what was going on.

Concerned neighbors had told the police that the kids' biological mother and her partner were always hurting them physically. After hearing about the report, the police went to the couple's home in Egbeda/Idimu and arrested them. Later, the police went to the hospital where the neighbors had taken the children who had been beaten to get help.

When asked about it, their mother said that the kids had fallen off a motorcycle and hurt themselves badly.

SP Benjamin, a spokesperson for the state police command, told LIB that the couple has been arrested and is being held in jail. They will be brought before a judge on Monday, January 16. He said that the children's father has been told.
