Woman who claims she was sexually abused by Dani Alves 'recognised a tattoo on his abdomen'

Last month, a woman said Dani Alves sexually assaulted her in Barcelona. She was able to identify the Brazilian World Cup star by a tattoo on his stomach, according to reports.

The former Barcelona defender is in jail while he is still being looked into.

The alleged victim said that the former right back for Barcelona hit her and raped her in the bathroom of the Sutton nightclub in the Spanish city of Barcelona in December.

Sources in the court system have said that Alves's tattoo of a crescent on his stomach was visible during the alleged attack.

The woman says she saw the tattoo when he tried to force her to have oral sex with him and she refused in the VIP club's locked bathroom stall.

The international soccer player said in court that he was sitting on the toilet when the woman attacked him.

The judge asked how the woman could see his tattoo when his shirt covered his chest.

El Mundo says that the player, who won the Champions League, then changed his story to say that he stood up when she came in so she could see the tattoo. He said that the two of them then had consensual sex, even though he had at first denied knowing the alleged victim and said that they had only passed each other in the bathroom without meeting.

Spanish media say that Alves's family wants him to change his lawyer and testify again because his evidence doesn't seem to match up.

Alves moved yesterday from the larger Brians 1 prison to the smaller Brian 2 prison, where people who have been convicted of sexual crimes are kept.

The new detention center has "smaller residential modules" that make it easier to make sure everyone is safe and can get along.

Authorities said that the type of crime Alves is accused of had nothing to do with their decision to send him away.

Alves spent three nights at a different prison with about 200 other people.

The new one can hold about 80 prisoners, both those who have been found guilty and those who are still waiting to be tried.

For now, Alves is likely to share a cell with another prisoner.

The lawyers for the defense are going to file an appeal against the detention. They say he should have more freedom, but not a passport. But there are worries that he would stay out of trouble if he went back to Brazil, where there is no extradition agreement with Spain.
