You Should Have Confessed Your Wicked Sins Instead of that ‘Bogus’ Speech At EP Church - Wontumi Slams JM

For his "bogus" remarks at the 175th anniversary of the Evangelical Presbyterian (EP) Church, former President John Mahama has been criticized by the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr. Bernard Antwi-Boasikao.

Mr. Mahama attended the Thanksgiving Service at the EP Church in the Volta area on Sunday with several members of his party.

At the ceremony, he lamented Ghana's plight without suggesting any new policies he might propose to the government.

Mr. Bernard Antwi-Boasiako, better known as Chairman Wontumi, responded in an interview with Wontumionline.com by saying that Mr. Mahama should have used the occasion to ask for forgiveness and tell Ghanaians how he mismanaged the economy to the core.

I want to tell Mahama that his comments were ridiculous if he believes he can engage in partisan political discourse within the walls of a church rather than viewing it as a sacred space where he can repent of his sins. No one ever goes to the house of God with the intention of lying; most people go there to repent and reaffirm their faith. According to Chairman Wontumi, "God hates lairs and people who think they are smart in their carnal ways."
