You are behaving like a lotto forecaster — Amankwa jabs Ben Ephson

Collins Owusu Amankwa, who is the Ashanti Regional campaign manager for presidential aspirant John Alan Kyeremanten of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has criticized Ghanaian pollster Ben Ephson for his comments that Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia will win the NPP flagbearership.

Amankwa disagreed with Ephson's claims, stating that they are not based on any data and cannot be considered accurate. Ephson had earlier predicted that Dr. Bawumia would win the NPP flagbearership and subsequently, the presidency in the 2024 general elections. He based his prediction on the fact that Dr. Bawumia would appeal to both the Christian and Muslim communities in Ghana.

However, Amankwa believes that Ephson's predictions are unreliable, likening him to a lotto forecaster who always gets his predictions wrong. He stated that there are credible institutions that have the necessary expertise to carry out such surveys, and if Ephson cannot support his claims with data and sample sizes, then he is not conducting a proper survey.

In addition, Ephson also predicted that John Mahama will win the flagbearership of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) but will face a bigger challenge in winning the presidency.
