You can't develop a nation with just a foreign accent - Mahama teases Akufo-Addo

Former Ghanaian President, John Dramani Mahama, took a jibe at President Nana Akufo-Addo and the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) during an address to NDC delegates in Suhum, Eastern Region.

Mahama accused the President and his associates of spreading misinformation about his government when they were in opposition, using fancy language and slang.

He further stated that such language does not contribute to the development of a country. Mahama then mimicked the President and Vice President's 2016 campaign slogan of "incompetent Mahama" while reiterating the NPP's promise to transform Ghana within 18 months, including the implementation of the "one district, one factory" policy.

The former President also laughed at some of Akufo-Addo's famous quotes, such as "we have wealth but we are suffering". This is the first time Mahama has mocked the current government, having previously teased Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia in March regarding his "solid economic management team" remark.
