You insulted and disrespected everybody but want to be President – Ken Agyapong jabbed

Kennedy Agyapong, the Member of Parliament for Assin Central, has come under fire from Madam Nyonkopa Daniels, the founder and executive director of Peace Watch Ghana.

She claimed that although the politician, who is running for president today, wants people to appreciate him, he has a history of abusing and humiliating people in the name of politics.

“A man who has a history of assaulting and abusing people shouldn't expect to be treated with the respect he deserves," said Ms Daniels, who spoke out against the politics of insults.

She argued that while one can disagree with and criticise leaders, it is not advisable to insult them.

She detailed how the likes of Kennedy Agyapong had denigrated, ridiculed and used foul language to characterise John Dramani Mahama.

"I reject political insults. I will feel it if I learn that Bawumia and Nana Addo are being insulted today. Look at his pedigree. I have a lot of respect for these people. I also expect them to have respect for John Dramani Mahama. I'm counting on their respect for Nana Akufo-Addo. Regardless of the issue, there is no need to insult them.”

When these insults are directed at children, they are most terrible. Then a lawmaker like Kennedy Agyapong will insult Mahama and use derogatory language. He is now interested in the presidency of Ghana.

"Kennedy Agyaponbg has insulted people including former IGPs, presidents and others. I am not against him being president. He wants to be elected now. I don't disagree with his choice, but would he be happy if he was elected president today and insulted the way he insulted others?”
