Your Dirty Hands Will Soil Our Constitution - Wontumi Slam’s Mahama’s Plan

Mr Bernard Antwi-Boasiako, the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has told Mr John Mahama to stay away from Ghana's 1992 Constitution.

He told the former president not to lay his "unholy" hands on the 1992 constitution or come up with ideas to change the fact that an elected president can only stay in office for 4 years.

"You're a dirty man and you've done a lot of bad things that should keep you in jail. You're lucky that the immunity clause protects you and you have the courage to talk about changing the constitution? Mr Bernard Antwi-Boasiako, often called 'Chairman Wontumi', was curious.

Former President John Dramani Mahama has shockingly confirmed that he would change Ghana's constitution so that he could try to rule for more than 8 years if he wins the 2024 elections.

Responding to a question during a recent media event in the United Kingdom, John Mahama said, "The most important thing is that the NDC will look at the constitution again. We have been using this constitution for more than 26 years and I think it is time for us to look at it again and make some adjustments so that we can have a proper constitutional environment in which we can grow the economy". So said Mahama.
He went on to say, "We have a four-year term like in the US, but not a five-year term like in other countries where you can't do much in four years.

But Chairman Wontumi said Mr Mahama's words were making people angry because of how badly he had run Ghana in the past.

He said Mr Mahama and the NDC would not be able to destroy an economy that was getting better because the NPP would not allow that to happen.

"This government is doing everything possible to make the economy look better again, so we won't allow any incompetent person or party to sneak in and ruin it. We won't let dirty men with dirty hands mess up our constitution," said Chairman Wontumi.
