American singer Rihanna explains why he fell in love with Ghana star Kevin-Prince Boateng

Rihanna, a musician originally from Barbados and now based in the United States, voiced her support for Ghana's national football squad, the Black Stars, in 2014 when the 19th FIFA World Cup was being played in Brazil.

It was because of her admiration for Kevin-Prince Boateng, who was playing for AC Milan at the time, that she decided to promote the brand.

Rihanna showed her support for Ghana on June 16, 2014, when the Black Stars were competing against the United States Men's Soccer team, by publishing an endearing picture of Boateng on her Instagram profile. The game was being played at the same time.

The post gained significant traction almost immediately, and Rihanna's adoring caption of "Da Bae doe!" contributed to the chatter that it generated.

This expression, which can be interpreted as "baby," "boo," or "sweetie," is a Western Florida colloquialism that is frequently used.

Even with Rihanna's support, the Black Stars were defeated by the United States squad in their first match, 2-1.
