Juaben: Watch how alleged wee dealers beating police officers with pestles, sticks and stones

A disturbing video showing what are believed to be people selling "wee" in the Juaben Municipality of the Ashanti Region attacking some police officers with a pestle has created a significant uproar on social media.

The video shows a group of young men, about eight in total, beating another guy with sticks, stones, and a large pestle.

A separate video that was released some time later recorded the same people attacking another man who had blood pouring out of his mouth and nose as a result of the assault.

The Assembly Member for Juaben, Hon. Ransford Osei, revealed on Wednesday, April 5, 2023, to OTEC News Jacob Agyenim Boateng that the victims at the receiving end were two community police officers in the region.

"According to my research, police in the area had arrested a friend of those you saw in the video for dealing in some illegal drugs; the two community police officers were reported to have taken Gh1,000 from the gang under the guise of giving it to the commander for the swift release of their friend."

"After waiting for some time without any positive results, the group went to the police station and discovered that the two community Police officers had not given the money to their superiors for the release of their friend as promised, and as a result, they became agitated."

"They went to the various homes of the officers and attacked them; the officer whose home you see them attacking with a pestle is known in the area as Owuraku, 26, and he lives in my Electoral Area; the other officer is called Exhibit, 33."

According to the member of the assembly, the two were taken to the hospital as a result of the assault.

In the meantime, six people seen in the video who have not yet been identified have been detained by the local authorities in the region for further investigation.
