What to expect from nogokpo chiefs as agyinasares 14 day ultimatum espires

On Friday, June 16, 2023, the 14-day ultimatum given by the chiefs and elders of Nogokpo in the Ketu South District of the Volta Region will come to an end.

While the day is still young, there is still time (of a few hours) to see whether or not Archbishop Charles Agyinasare, the founder and leader of the Perez Chapel International, will show up.

Numerous appeals for the famous cleric to either appear before the Nogokpo chiefs or not have been made thus far.

Others, including some clergy, have also criticized the archbishop and said his remarks are very destructive.

One of these people was Bishop Dr. Fred Akakpo, President of the Pan African Clergy Council, who told GhanaWeb that the esteemed clergyman's remarks were "totally defamatory."

In addition, he emphasized that if caution is not used, this comment can ignite a confrontation that could result in the loss of many lives.

"The archbishop made a statement that is completely slanderous. It indicates that everyone there, including the Christians who live there, is possessed. He targeted the neighborhood rather than the town's deity or summoned its wrath.

"His statement can give birth to a serious tribal or religious conflict leading to loss of lives and property," he claimed.

What steps does the Nogokpo leadership intend to take, however, if Archbishop Charles Agyinasare fails to appear?

In a statement dated June 2, 2023 and titled "Archbishop Agyinasare to Meet Council of Elders of Nogokpo in Person Within 14 Days," the chiefs and citizens of Nogokpo reportedly requested the healing evangelist's presence before them from the Ghanaian Peace Council and the Christian Council of Ghana.

The declaration also provided a hint as to what the Nogokpo chiefs would do if the priest skipped the appointment.

The ninth point of their 10-pointer statement read, "It is expected that this 14-day ultimatum given to Agyinasare would serve as a peremptory to do the necessary, but his rejection might compel us to advise ourselves."

Everyone is waiting impatiently to learn what the details of that particular action will be.
