Ahead Of 2024 Elections: NDC Gurus storm Western Region

National Executives and leading members of National Democratic Congress (NDC) over the weekend stormed Ellembelle Constituency in Western Region for a Regional youth conference.

They were there in their numbers at the behest and invitation of Alhaji Mustapha Iddirisu led Regional Youth wing of the party.

The youth wing organized the capacity building conference under the theme "Effective mobilization for power: the role of a youth organizer" which attracted top-notch speakers from various levels within the party.

From constituency, regional to the national, all speakers sounded one alarm bell, that the 2024 elections was not going to be business as usual, and that the NDC would work hard to secure uncontestable victory and accordingly form the next government in 2025.

Mustapha Gbande Foyo, Deputy General Secretary of the NDC, who fired up the youth wing with critical analysis of the political situation in the country under the topic "Mobilization in multi-ethnic constituencies : Data and strategies" said the youth wing must be prepared to work with all manner of groups to expand the party's reach at the base.

He said they must eschew negative political activities especially those hinging on tribal considerations, religious undertones, sectionalism, among others that turn to undermine the electoral fortunes of the party since all communities across the country act and take decisions based on their peculiarities, interest and aspirations.

National Organizer of the party, Dr. Joseph Yammin, who appeared highly poised for victory, hammered on the topic "Effective Youth Mobilization at the grassroot: the tactics and strategies"

He charged the youth organizers of the party to consider the victory of NDC as a non negotiable program they must pursue

Sounding very optimistic, he told the youth organizers "Let the people around you know that we are already there, so they can come on board" he emphasized.

Deputy National Organizer of the party, Ellikem Kotoko, did a power point presentation on "Preparation towards the limited voter registration exercise: data and strategies"

He explained in detail sequence of data management, reconciliation of figures, and appealed to the youth organizers to stand up against complacency.

He said considering the treacherous behaviour, actions and nature of members of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), all youth organizers of NDC must brace up for the task ahead in 2024 to stop any attempt by either the Electoral Commission (EC) or the NPP from abusing the electoral process.

On his part, Deputy National Youth Organizer, Osman Ayariga, touched on the topic " Building resilient and vibrant youth wing: the role of a youth organizer"

He expressed gratitude to the sponsor of the youth conference and Deputy Minority Leader of the NDC, Emmanuel Armah Kofi Buah for his dedication and commitment to build a formidable youth wing in Western Region.

He appealed to the youth wing never to led down the MP for Ellembelle, and that they must never take the support being rendered to them for granted.

The Deputy National Youth Organizer, Ruth Dela Seddoh, who received thunderous applause from the charged crowd following her readiness to speak while standing behind the podium, assured the teaming youth of the party of her commitment to revive the 31st December Women’s Movement in the party.

She said the ultimate goal is to re-energize the base of the party. Cobsequently, she promised to visit the Western Region again to engage the women's wing to rewrite the narrative ahead of the 2024 general elections. She also reminded the intellectual wing in the party who are currently sitting on the fence to join the victory train and change the electoral fortunes of the party at the various tertiary institutions across the country.

Her topic was "Formation of dynamic ladies/winning the intellectual votes for NDC: the role of TEIN"

Former Deputy National Organizer of the party, Chief Hamilton Biney, took the participants through the topic "Organization, ballot protection and security : The role of a youth organizer"

He underscored the importance of building strong bridges, and fostering unity in the party while working together to secure victory instead of undermining each other.

He encouraged the youth to develop courage, confidence and compassion for the party ahead of the general elections.

The Western Region minority caucus in Parliament, led by Member of Parliament (MP) for Prestea Huni-Valley Constituency, and Member of Parliament for Evalue-Ajomoro-Gwira Constituency, Kofi Arko Nokoe, made a presentation on behalf of the caucus.
