NPP presidential primaries: Former Ellembelle NPP chairman calls on delegates to vote for Bawumia












Former chairman for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Ellembelle constituency of the Western Region, Samuel Akainyah, has appealed passionately to NPP delegates across the country to vote massively for vice president Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.

Samuel Akainyah became the Ellembelle NPP chairman in 2011 and was changed in 2021.

He is the campaign coordinator in charge of Evalue-Ajomoro Gwira and Jomoro constituencies for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.

Speaking to this journalist on Friday, November 3, 2023 ahead of the contest, Samuel Akainyah alias Chairman Atito commended vice president Bawumia for appointing him to help him in his campaign.

"In fact, Vice president Bawumia respects human beings it doesn't matter your status and color, look at where I come from, he did not look at where I come from, he has made me as one of his campaign coordinators, a person like Bawumia deserves to lead NPP", he disclosed.

He expressed optimistic that vice president Bawumia would chalked resounding victory in Jomoro and Evalue-Ajomoro Gwira constituencies.

"As a coordinator for vice president Bawumia in Evalue-Ajomoro Gwira and Jomoro constituencies, I can say it on authority that vice president Bawumia will win massively in these constituencies because the responses from the delegates are very authentic, the delegates in these constituencies love vice president Bawumia too much and I trust in them that they will not disappoint us vice president Bawumia at all", he stated.

Samuel Akainyah, therefore, called on other delegates in other constituencies to vote massively for vice president Bawumia.

"Let me use your medium to communicate to other delegates in other constituencies to learn from delegates in Evalue-Ajomoro Gwira and Jomoro constituencies and vote massively for vice president Bawumia", he urged.

He took the opportunity, to appeal to the rank and file of the party to respect the party's guidelines for the presidential primaries and comport themselves during and after the primaries on Saturday.

"This is a family contest, we are all one people, we should not see ourselves as enemies, let us respect the guidelines for this special primaries, we must comport ourselves during and after the election", he called.

He was also very optimistic that vice president Bawumia would be the only party member who could win the 2024 presidential elections.

He pledged that he and his team would not sleep until vice president Bawumia is declared winner on Saturday.

"We will not at all, we will not be complecent at all, we will work tirelessly and we will not sleep until vice president Bawumia is declared winner by EC. I'm supporting vice president Bawumia simply because he is a humble person, he is very hardworking, he is the only NPP member who can break the 8 for us so I will call on all the delegates to vote for him", he said.

Over 200,000 NPP delegates are expected to partake in the NPP presidential primaries on Saturday, November 4, 2023, in some 274 constituencies in the country.

The voting process is also expected to commence at 7am and close at 2pm.

Security of the primaries has been handed to the Ghana Police Service.
