Protests intensify in Kenya

Kenyans were preparing for the opposition's latest round of protests on Wednesday (July 19).

The national protests demanded that President William Ruto's government cut the cost of living. They were also intended to compel the president to revoke a bill imposing new taxes.

"The protests we are having on a weekly basis is going to bring a change because the advisors surrounding the president are not telling the truth," Fred Onzere, who is presently unemployed, said.

"Now, I believe that even if the president sits down in his house late at night because he is very busy, he will be able to see news and see the suffering."
