THIEF BEATEN

Residents in the small town of Cape Coast, located in the Central region, successfully apprehended a 29-year-old thief who was attempting to steal from them. He was apprehended at approximately 11:00 PM on Wednesday, July 26, 2023. Most people know this thief as Abu Saddick, who is 29 years old. He is recognised within the community as both a skilled mason and a dedicated farmer.


According to the victim of the incident, he finished work at approximately 11:00 PM when he observed an individual attempting to break into his residence. He remained silent in his room and reached out to one of his neighbours for help. When the neighbour arrived, they witnessed a thief attempting to break into one of the rooms using various tools. He quickly grabbed the person and called out to the victim, who also came to offer assistance.


They proceeded to secure the thief to a car tyre using a rope, and then began striking him with canes while interrogating him. The thief admitted that he was not a habitual thief, but he resorted to stealing due to financial difficulties. He mentioned that he smokes, but clarified that he does not use hard drugs such as cocaine.

The residents sent him to the police station nearby.
