All participating teams, including Medeama SC, are under duress. Patrick Akoto's

Patrick Akoto, the Administrative Manager of Medeama Sporting Club, has remarked that there is pressure on all clubs playing in the 2019 CAF Champions League, not just Medeama SC, as many believe.

According to new CAF rules established before of the new season, teams that fail to qualify for the group stage will not be able to compete in the Confederations Cup, as was the case in the previous, indicating a must-win situation for all ambitious clubs.
As a result, Medeama, who will be making their debut in the league, are expected to go above and beyond to achieve better results, given Ghanaian teams' already dismal track record in the competition in recent years.
However, while acknowledging the level of pressure, Patrick Akoto believes it is a hard assignment for everyone else in the tournament as well.
"It puts a lot of strain on everyone, not just Medeama." It puts a lot of pressure on all of the teams, but as I previously stated, we are a patient club. We are not getting ahead of ourselves; we are aware of the hurdles that we face, and we will go out and do our best," he stated, according to Citi Sports.
Medeama SC will face Remo Stars of Nigeria in the first round of the Champions League on August 20 at the Cape Coast Stadium before heading to Nigeria for the second leg the following week.
